The online Executive Graduate Certificate program is delivered by combining innovative distance learning technology with an intensive on-campus residency session. Your participation in Web-based learning modules, student and faculty collaboration, online discussion groups, conference calls and advanced technological tools will contribute to an outstanding educational experience.
How many courses are required to earn a certificate?
NAIOP's online Executive Graduate Certificate in Real Estate requires that you complete four courses, which includes one course in residence. Credits earned through the Executive Graduate Certificate program can transfer toward required credits to earn an Executive Master of Science in Real Estate and Construction Management through the University of Denver.
I have a demanding professional life. How flexible is the program?
You can access your courses online any day of the week, any time of the day. You do not have to be online at a specific time, although you will want to participate in a live Web discussion or scheduled phone conference weekly. Your courses will follow the timeline of a traditional academic quarter. However, open communication with the instructor generally allows for additional flexibility.
Am I required to come to campus?
We require online Executive Graduate Certificate participants to join other executives and the faculty on campus for one three-day course in residence. Courses in residence are normally scheduled for three days in each June and December.
When do the quarters begin and end? What is the application deadline?

What is the purpose of the residency session?
Residency courses encourage networking, dialogue and interactive learning among the students, professors and staff through group meetings and classroom sessions. The wealth of knowledge and experience among the Executive students provides a forum for lively discussion on the current issues affecting the real estate industry.
How long does the Certificate program take to complete?
Online courses are normally offered at least once each year. Participants typically take one or two courses, equivalent to four or eight credit hours, per academic quarter. There are four 10-week quarters per year. At this pace, anticipated completion time of the certificate program is 6-12 months, depending on what courses you are interested in taking. On average, the weekly time commitment is two to three hours of study and/or participation per credit hour.
If I apply and am accepted to the Program through NAIOP and DU, who confers the Executive Graduate Certificate to me upon completion of the program, the University of Denver or NAIOP?
Your certificate of completion identifies the "NAIOP Executive Graduate Certificate in Real Estate, the Burns School, Daniels College, University of Denver" and is presented to you by the University.
